Welcome to the new ST3 in Cardiology!

and hello again to the ST >3!

List of training days in the region for Aug 2018- July 2019. There will be additional events to these listed here, so please do not forget to check this website.

1- East of England Simulation Day at Basildon Hospital, aimed at ST3- Wed 19th September, Registration open at:

2- Cadaveric Simulation- an one day course run twice on Tuesday 30th October and Wednesday 31st October, at the Evelyn Surgical Training Centre, in Melbourne, Heartfordshire  https://cambridgesurgicaltraining.co.uk/
This will include basic surgical skills, pacemaker insertion, pericardiocentisis teaching and assessment and cardiac anatomy dissection. 
We would expect that the hospitals can release doctors on both days, and for doctors on call they can swap one of the two days to attend. Registration not open yet, but please check website next week.

3- Cardiac Imaging 1- Echocardiography, Monday November 5th 2018, at British Racing School in Newmarket, https://www.brs.org.uk/

4- Electrophysiology and Cardiac Devices, Friday 14th December 2018, at British Racing School 

5- Inherited Cardiac Conditions, Wednesday  January 9th 2019, at British Racing School

6- Cardiac Imaging 2, CMR and CT, Thursday Feb 21st 2019, at British Racing School

7- Intervention,  Thursday March 14th, 2019, at British Racing School

8- Heart Failure, Friday May 24th, 2019, at British Racing School

9- British Cardiac Society Annual Conference, Monday 3rd June 2019, Manchester. The first day of the conference is a NATIONAL TRAINING DAY, therefore all the SpRs (apart from those covering on call) can ask to attend. 


PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS ALSO AN ADULT CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE MEETING AT THE ROYAL SOCIETY OF MEDICINE IN LONDON ON WED 12TH SEPTEMBER.

June 4th 2018- BCS Annual Conference, the first day (Monday) of the conference is a national training day and all the hospitals in the EoE have agreed to treat it similarly to the local training days... ie anyone apart from on call can be released if they wish to go to Manchester


Sept 2018- tbc... simulation course in Basildon- further info will be added when available

Oct 30th and 31st 2018- Cadaveric simulation in Cambridge. Same course run twice to facilitate attendance. Please inform clinic coordinators now (especially if you are moving hospital in August please!)
